The City of Cape Town Water and Sanitation's Water Grant enabled the MRCT to improved biodiversity within the Mosselbank River corridor, reduced litter and illegal dumping and increased community participation and environmental awareness.

28/02/2026 - A recycle swop shop was hosted and 445 kg of litter was
collected; 400 kg was given to a local buy-back center. About 60 community members participated.

28/03/2026 - second recycle swop shop was hosted, and 640 kg of litter were collected, and 576 kg were given to a local buy-back center. About 70 community members participated.

Clean-up
On 23 May 2026, 92 Kg of litter was picked up from the Mosselbank River by 35 volunteers. A team also
focused on cleaning the MRCT herb garden.

Clean-up
On 15 May 2026, the MRCT and Manjiya Economic Development in Kraaifontain collaborated for a clean-up and collected 233.5kg of litter from the river.
World Environment Day 26
On 05 June 2026, 14 MRCT volunteers planted 22 trees with the Ackermans team, together with collecting 21 Kg of litter.
