About
We are proud to introduce the NextGen MRCT Nature Stewards — a passionate team of young people committed to protecting our natural environment and inspiring positive change within our communities. We believe that the future of nature depends on the actions we take today. Through a dedicated mentorship programme, the NextGen Nature Stewards will learn alongside experienced MRCT members, gaining knowledge and practical experience in environmental education, conservation, community engagement, and sustainable initiatives. This project is proudly funded and supported by the Table Mountain Fund as part of their CARE Programme, with additional co-funding from the City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Grant.

The Team
The NextGen team consists of young people between the ages of 18 and 25 from Greenville and Fisantekraal. The team is mentored by Elizabeth Maans, one of the MRCT’s Directors, and Sannie Lesch, who has been a dedicated MRCT volunteer for the past six years.
